Football icon Rio Ferdinand, musician and TV presenter Alesha Dixon, Love Island host Maya Jama and pop sensation Zayn Malik are among the high-profile celebrities leading nominations for the 2024 Ethnicity Awards. The shortlist for the star-studded event was unveiled today. The Ethnicity Awards, in partnership with HSBC UK, annually honours the most influential Black, Asian and Ethnic Minorities in the UK with prestigious awards recognising their accomplishments and efforts to promote diversity and inclusion.

Rio Ferdinand , who alongside a significant TV career heads a major social mobility charity providing opportunities for young people from racially diverse backgrounds, is up for a major award along with fellow sports stars Denise Lewis and Aston Villa footballer Tyrone Mings. Pop star turned TV presenter Alesha Dixon and former One Direction singer Zayn Malik are also contenders for a major award.
