The heartwarming trailer of Vijay 69 was released today by Netflix and it features Anupam Kher in a never-before-seen avatar. A day before the trailer launch, Anupam Kher spoke to a select group of journalists about his experience of doing the film and a lot more. Vijay 69 is the story of a 69-year-old man who wants to participate in the triathlon, which is an athletic contest consisting of swimming, cycling and running.

Anupam Kher said, “I could run and cycle but I didn’t know how to swim. The makers said that I can manage somehow as in today’s times, we have technology to take care of it. I explained, ‘If I personally don’t learn swimming at the age of 68, then the whole purpose of the film is defeated’.

I had a water phobia and yet, I learned swimming. I am not the greatest swimmer but I managed to do the shots as per the requirement.” Director Akshay Roy was also present and he revealed, “We were shooting all night at the Gateway of India, Mumbai and we had almost finished the shoot.

We took a break around 5:00 or 6:00 in the morning. I wanted to take a cycling shot during sunrise. The triathlon cycles are not like the usual ones.

They are slightly raised. So, I was watching him on the monitor and the next moment, I couldn’t see him! He fell on his head, he flipped over and his survival instinct made him fall on his hand. His shoulder came out of the socket.
