Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, legal counsel of "independent contractors" Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz, is not keen on making her clients appear at a Senate hearing scheduled on Aug. 7 as instigated by Senator Robin Padilla.

She explained on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" that the hearing is mainly about "Policies of Television Networks and Artist Management Agencies in Relation to Complaints of Abuse and Harassment" and that her clients, are not privy to the same. “Our clients are not an employee of GMA Network or Sparkle artist management agency. Therefore they do not have personal knowledge of the policies of said network and talent agency," she related.

The lawyer also added that with a criminal case already filed against her clients at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), she'd rather follow "criminal procedure." Senator Padilla called for the investigation on Monday, citing the need for clarity. “Kailangan magkaroon ng malinaw, malinaw na pagpapaliwanag sa komite ng mass media ang naganap na ito sapagka’t ito po ay public information,” the senator said.
