While the agitating doctors have decided to continue emergency and ICU services, they have announced the suspension of other services. On Friday, 49 minor and major planned surgeries were postponed. Hospital authorities said since all resident doctors and interns have gone on strike, tutors and senior doctors are managing the show.

“A large part of the workforce has gone on strike. Naturally, there will be difficulties, especially for patients who have come from far away,” said SSG Hospital’s medical superintendent Dr Ranjan Aiyer, adding that all the other staff have been roped in to run the services affected by the strike. tnn We also published the following articles recently Kolkata doctor rape-murder: Resident doctors' strike leads to disruptions in medical services at Lucknow hospitals Patients at KGMU, SGPGI, and RMLIMS in Lucknow faced severe OPD service disruptions and postponed surgeries due to a strike by resident doctors, who demanded justice for a colleague found dead.
