Rhys Scerri and Leigh Lincoln fronted the County Court on Tuesday for sentencing after earlier pleading guilty to their roles in the offending that took place in September 2020. In a separate offending, the court heard that Scerri raped and impregnated a woman who was affected by drugs in March 2020. Scerri was sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment on three charges of rape and given that Lincoln has already spent 570 days in custody on one charge of sexual assault, it was deemed time served.
Lincoln filmed Scerri raping a naked and unconscious woman and the video was circulated among their group of friends and eventually provided to police. Rhys Scerri raped two women, impregnating one, after drugging them. Judge Wendy Wilmoth said the first rape happened in late March 2020 when the victim was affected by drugs.
Scerri moved his hand on her hip area and then on to her vagina over her shorts, despite her saying no and telling him to stop. Scerri then started kissing her, climbed on top of her and raped her. Scerri said “I thought you wanted it”.
She said “No, f--- off”. I said no and tried to push you off. How come you think I wanted it? Judge Wilmoth said the victim became pregn.
