Heavy rainfall lashed various parts of Telangana on Sunday, as predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The rains, which began in the late afternoon in Hyderabad, were heavy yet intermittent, causing significant disruption across the city and beyond. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for the next five days, warning of continuous heavy rainfall due to a cyclone in circulation expected to form over the north-western Bay of Bengal.

In the GHMC limits, Bandlaguda, and Hayathnagar recorded the highest rainfall of 21.5 mm, followed by Lingojiguda and Rock Town Colony at 17.8 mm and 17.

While some regions like Khadernagar and Santoshnagar received 3 mm of rain, others like Rooplal Bazar in Charminar saw minimal rainfall of 2.8 mm. Elsewhere in the state, Mulugu district’s Medaram recorded the highest rainfall at 50.

Several regions in Nagarkurnool, including Yengampalli and Telkapalle, experienced heavy showers of 33.8 mm and 33.3 mm, respectively.
