Wednesday, January 22, 2025 The capital of Ecuador, Quito, is set to shine at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid, Spain, from January 22 to 26, 2025. Celebrating its tenth participation, the Quito Tourism Board will present the city’s unparalleled cultural, natural, and gastronomic offerings to one of the world’s most prestigious tourism industry platforms. Since its inception in 1981, FITUR has grown into a leading global event for the tourism industry.
The 2024 edition attracted over 250,000 attendees, including professionals, exhibitors, and members of the general public. This year, FITUR expects to welcome more than 9,000 companies, 153,000 professionals, and 97,000 general visitors from 152 countries, making it a crucial networking and promotional hub. Quito will co-exhibit as part of the Ecuador stand, joining forces with other stakeholders to position itself as a top-tier destination in Europe.
With Spain as one of its leading tourism source markets—47,000 Spanish visitors traveled to Ecuador in 2024—the city sees FITUR as a vital opportunity to attract more travelers. During the four-day fair, Quito will emphasize its multi-faceted appeal by showcasing: The Quito Tourism Board will also present its “Visit Quito” digital platform, which provides tourists with comprehensive information on activities, attractions, and services. The platform is a key tool in enhancing visitor experience and boosting the city’s accessibility to international mar.
