Investigation Discovery, the network behind Quiet on Set, has announced the premiere date of its upcoming documentary Chris Brown : A History of Violence as part of the network’s annual No Excuse for Abuse campaign. The documentary will discuss how the artist has managed to maintain a steady stream of success despite the several legal allegations of abuse made against him by several women — which started in 2009 when he physically assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna — as well as claims of ”offstage aggression,” “intimate-partner violence” and sexual assault. A History of Violence will also hear the story of an unidentified woman who comes forward as a new accuser.

“With expert and cultural commentary layered throughout, the documentary provides thoughtful reflections into each survivor’s experience and the psychological destruction in the aftermath of their abuse,” producers said in a statement. ID president Jason Sarlanis added, “ID is dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through its programming and campaigns. Our annual No Excuse for Abuse campaign amplifies this message, providing resources to show survivors and their loved ones that they are not alone and that help is available.
