Vadodara: Protests continued over admission to the Faculty of Commerce of MS University (MSU) concerning students who cleared the supplementary board exam of the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSJSEB) in July. The university has not yet opened the common admission portal for such students. Student leaders held protests at the MSU head office and the commerce faculty over admissions on Monday.
While the National Students Union of India (NSUI) held protests at the faculty, the All Gujarat Students Union (AGSU) protested at the head office of the university. The student leaders claimed that despite repeated representations, the university was not taking steps to open the portal for admissions of students who could not clear the class 12 exams held in March and did so in the July attempt. The first protest regarding the issue was made to the officials of the faculty last week.
It had led to arguments between the officials and student leaders. The student leaders threatened that the agitation would become more aggressive if their demands were not fulfilled. Besides the students who cleared the exam in July, the demand for giving admissions to all local students in the faculty has also been raised by the student outfits.
