THE Secretary East of the Ministry of External Affairs of the Indian government Jaideep Mazumdar says the Indian government is looking to partner with the Fiji High Commission in Delhi in terms of advocating and promoting Fijian tourism in India. He said other cities apart from New Delhi in India were not aware of how to get to Fiji and what Fiji offered. “We will be happy to work with your High Commission in Delhi to promote tourism,” says Mr Mazumdar.

“The Fiji High Commissioner in New Delhi Jagnath Sami was saying how there is so little awareness about Fiji outside big cities. “In New Delhi, people know, compared to other cities, they are not so aware of how to get to Fiji, what is here and what is offered, and you know how Fiji is a close partner country of India in the Pacific. “It has a large population of Indian origin and apart from that, they don’t know about the beauty of the place and the facilities and the lovely hotels that you have.

“So I think we can definitely partner with your High Commissioner in promoting Fijian tourism in India.”.
