Prince William has a very good reason not to move into the £30million Royal Lodge once Prince Andrew is kicked out, according to a royal expert. King Charles is reported to have been trying to get the disgraced Duke of York to leave the luxury mansion in Windsor for more than a year, only to be greeted with a point blank refusal to do so. It had been believed that the monarch wanted it empty so the Prince and Princess of Wales could take the property instead - but they are in fact more than happy to stay at their current Adelaide Cottage residence, according to the latest reports.

While the spacious 19th century house would appear to be a blessing for a young family of Prince George , 11, Princess Charlotte , nine, and Prince Louis , six, William is said to be far more focused on Kate's health after her shock cancer diagnosis earlier this year. The Princess has been largely absent from duty this year as she recovers from treatment for an undisclosed form of the illness, and is thought to be spending a lot of time at home. It means stability for the family is far more of a priority than moving into a bigger place, according to Richard Kay writing in the Daily Mail .
