Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's controversial trip to Colombia has reportedly left the Prince of Wales "furious" and he is keen to issue a statement to distance the Royal Family from the visit. Prince William is reportedly furious about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's trip to Colombia according to royal commentator Tom Quinn. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are in the South American country at the invitation of its Vice-President Francia Marquez.

Their four-day visit will see them meet with locals and attend a music event. Dubbed by some as a "faux royal tour", royal expert Quinn, author of Scandals of the Royal Palaces , suggested that Prince William is annoyed by the comparisons being made and wants to publicly distance the Royal Family from the trip. Quinn said: "The practical issue for King Charles and Prince William is how they should react if there was no risk that it would make things worse, William would like to issue a statement reminding everyone that Meghan and Harry's tour of Columbia is not in any way officially sanctioned, but his father King Charles is steadfast in his belief that silence is the best response.

" He added: "King Charles' communications team will certainly agree with him ignoring what Meghan and Harry do is now seen as vital to avoid giving them further publicity. Increasingly, Meghan and Harry are referred to as the outlaw royals." Quinn also suggested that the jaunt to Colombia could harm efforts to repair relations within the Royal Family.
