Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were warmly welcomed with gifts when they took the time to visit Invictus athletes during their fast-paced tour of Colombia. The 39-year-old Duke and 43-year-old Duchess of Sussex were presented with gifts on Friday, August 16, during their visit to Bogota's Centro de Rehabilitación Inclusiva. Athletes from Team Colombia were preparing for the Invictus Games, a competition for sick, injured, or wounded returning veterans.

On the second day of their national tour, the well-known pair attended a training session. Athletes were joined in attendance by local military authorities, Vice President Francia Márquez, and her partner, Rafael Yerney Pinillo. Markle received paintings, hand-knitted creatures, matching necklaces and earrings made by local artists while she was there.

Prince Harry received a commemorative plaque from the Ministry of National Defense Veterans in recognition of his continued strong support for the Invictus Games. Since its inception in March 2014, the multisport event has been supported by The Prince. The athlete read, “To Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex,” as she gave the gift to the Duke.

“In appreciation and thanks for your commitment and priceless provision of sporting events and the Invictus Games as a means of rehabilitation for Colombian wounded, ill, and injured law enforcement and military personnel, whether they are active duty members or veterans.” The Sussexes visited the facilities, which featured a swim.
