Calling all Primark fans, as the fast-fashion chain is just about to open a new store in Glasgow just ahead of Christmas . The retailer will be opening the doors to its 21st Scottish store in the Glasgow Fort at 10am on December 5. It will mark the city's fourth Primark store, joining others on Argyle Street, Sauchiehall Street and in the Braehead Shopping Centre.

Set over two-floors and covering 33,500 sq.ft, customers will be able to shop everything from clothing and homeware to accessories and beauty. It has also created new jobs, with 200 team members hired ahead of the opening.

Additionally, the new store will also boast updated features such as self-checkouts, alongside manned tills. There will also be modern fixture and fittings, updated signage, LED lighting and new display units for its products. The opening of the new Glasgow Fort store will officially mark the fashion retailer's 159th UK store and forms part of its £100 million investment into its stores across the country.

The plans have so far upgraded, extended and refurbished a variety of branches. It also comes as Primark is celebrating 50 years on the UK high street, following the opening of its first store in Derby, England in September 1974. It then preceded to open its first Scots store a year later in Hamilton.
