The popular Today breakfast show star, 35, shot her final live cross on the Gold Coast before she prepares to welcome her second child, a daughter, with husband Paul. But what was meant to be a touching send-off quickly became bizarre as she cheerfully bid her farewells in front of the aftermath of a break-in.
The weekend 9News presenter was stunned to see her husband and their four-year-old son Albert arrive on-set with flowers as she reported from the macabre scene. Anchors Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo said their farewells to the reporter from Sydney , chuckling over the peculiar location Mia found herself in. As Mia stood in front of a crime scene in Ormeau, reporting on an overnight break-in at a local tobacco shop, the conversation took an unexpected turn.
With police combing through the taped off area behind her, Karl, 50, and Sarah, 38, cheerfully spoke with Mia about her maternity leave. She was gifted a bouquet of flowers during the chat, as well as a small onesie embroider.
