Seattle Storm rookie guard Nika Muhl's attempt to showcase her skills in Turkey ended in horrible fashion this Thursday. Muhl was selected by the Seattle Storm in the second round of this year's WNBA Draft. Despite entering the 2024 season with a ton of hype due to her success at UConn, she didn't have much of a role this year.

In fact, she averaged just 3.6 minutes per game. Her only made basket came on September 14 against the Phoenix Mercury.

Once the Storm were eliminated from the playoffs, Muhl signed a deal with Turkish club Besiktas. The plan was for her to show what she can do against professionals. Unfortunately, her time overseas has been cut short.

During this Thursday's game between Besiktas and Fenerbahce, the two-time Big East Defensive Player of the Year suffered a serious knee injury. It happened as she was bringing in a rebound. Muhl was clearly in pain the moment she hit the floor.

She was ultimately carried off the floor in a stretcher. Basketball fans around the world are praying that she avoided a long-term injury. Anadolu/Getty Images "Oh no I hate this for Nika," one fan wrote.

"Hope she's ok and just a sprain." "Incredibly hard not to feel for the former Husky who was just getting started overseas as a pro after her rookie year in the WNBA," a second fan said. "Hate this for Nika," another fan tweeted.

"The only break this college rookie class has had is a 30 day Olympic break, they need rest!" "Absolutely horrible. What bad luck for Nika," a fourth fa.
