Taquitos stated on social media today that its team is “proud to announce our partnership with The Bot on Malone Road. “We are hoping to bring the Burrito Truck to Botanic Inn and we are hoping to start right away!” The business added that opening hours will be revealed soon. The Taquitos trailer is currently found parked up near the Big Fish down by the Lagan River in Belfast city centre.

The Bot - which is particularly beloved by university students and sports fans - already has a hatch dedicated to Wing It, a local chicken wing eaterie. While Wing It will still stay open, the taco truck is set to bring some edible variety to the pub. Wing It was shortlisted for a prize at the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2024, which celebrates and recognises the very best and most-loved restaurants across the UK and Ireland.

It is nominated for "Best Chicken". Meanwhile, Taquitos - run by Belfas chef Gary Quinn - came second in a UK food research survey last year, which ranked the most popular food vans that every food lover needs to visit. Taquitos in Belfast was the only food truck in Northern Ireland to feature on the list and came second only behind pizza van Suda Italia in London in the popularity chart.

The Mexican restaurant on wheels creates the authentic snacks like chicken adobo, mojo pork, chorizo and pooled that chef Gary serves in a taco, burrito or with a bowl of rice. News Catch Up: Monday 16th September.
