Popeyes is bringing back a much-loved dish as well and a new item as fans claim that the fast-food chicken chain is 'better than KFC '. The Louisiana BBQ Sandwich is returning for a limited time only following its initial launch last year across UK restaurants that saw almost 10,000 of the New Orleans-inspired food item sold in its first week. After it was pulled from the menu, more than 65,000 customers still craved the sweet and smoky sauce and added it to their orders, leading to its eventual comeback.

The BBQ Sandwich starts from £6.99 and is infused with the flavours of Louisiana. The sandwich features a Shatter Crunchin' fried chicken breast drizzled with tasty BBQ sauce and topped with smoked cheese, fresh pickles, BBQ sauce, and mayo - all nestled in a soft brioche bun.

One Popeyes fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter ) earlier this year: "Tried Popeyes for the first time recently and their BBQ Louisiana is amazing," to which someone else replied that the chain was superior to KFC. "I was never into that kind of stuff, I'd always go for their chicken (spicy or mild), which mind you taste way better than the ones at KFC," they wrote. Elsewhere, another fan tweeted: "Thinking about Popeyes Louisiana bbq wings at this time".

To satisfy its customers even more, Popeyes has also launched the flavour combo in the form of its mouth-watering saucin' chicken wings. Starting from £5.75, they are drizzled with an in-house Popeyes sweet and smoky sauce that has a slight Southern tw.
