POLL: Who do you think will win Strictly Come Dancing? (Image: BBC) The new series of Strictly Come Dancing is almost here with 15 new celebrities hoping to lift the glitterball trophy. The BBC confirmed DIY SOS star Nick Knowles , former England footballer Paul Merson and Olympic hockey gold medallist Sam Quek as the final contestants, completing the line-up for the 22nd series. They join the show’s first blind contestant comedian Chris McCausland , JLS star JB Gill , opera singer Wynne Evans and Miranda actress Sarah Hadland .

Singer Toyah Willcox , Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri , reality TV star Pete Wicks and EastEnders ’ Jamie Borthwick are also taking part in the latest series. They will be joined by Olympian Tom Dean , singer Shayne Ward , Morning Live’s Dr Punam Krishan and Gladiator Montell Douglas . Yet two participants are already standing out as potential winners of the show. Tasha Ghouri and Jamie Borthwick have both proved contentious choices for the show and already caught the eye of bookies. The Love Islander is a trained dancer with fans calling out her experience as “unfair” while the EastEnders star won the Strictly Christmas special last year with professional Nancy Xu.
