Pune: The state election department resolved 995 of 1,011 complaints received via C-Vigil application within a week of the election announcement, poll officials said on Wednesday. Thane received the highest complaints at 218, followed closely by Pune (214) and Mumbai Suburban (127), official data showed. "The complaint resolution rate stands at 98% across all districts," an official said.

The C-Vigil app , developed by the Election Commission of India , allows citizens to report Model Code of Conduct (MCC) violations. Since the election code's implementation on Oct 15, the chief electoral office has mandated districts to address complaints within 100 minutes of receiving them. The election officials told TOI that no poll code violations would be tolerated and appropriate actions would be taken.

"District-level teams have been formed to take immediate action on citizen complaints filed through the app," a senior election official said.
