Thiruvananthapuram : Poonthura police have intensified search for the second accused in the murder of gangster Shibili at Beemapally beach in the early hours of Friday. The first accused in the case, M Inas, 22, of Kunnuvilakampurayidam at Beemapally, was arrested on Friday itself from Uravi beach in Tamil Nadu. The second accused is his brother, Inad, 20.

The duo beat Shibili to death during a drunken spar. Police have also ruled out the involvement of more accused in the crime. Two other Beemapally natives were taken into custody on Sunday.

However, police said they were invited to the beach on Thursday night by Shibili and they left the place around midnight, hours before Shibili was beaten to death by Inas and Inad. “They were invited to the beach by Shibili. When they reached the beach, Inas and Inad were present there.

It was after they left that an argument erupted between Inas, Inad, and Shibili over a previous dispute. The duo beat him to death and escaped from there,” said police. Inad was hiding in the Perumathura and Vizhinjam areas but managed to escape before police reached the spot.
