Police are hunting a 'muscular teen' after a woman was attacked during an attempted robbery in the middle of the afternoon. The victim was on the greenway - off Scotia Road, in Tunstall - when she was approached by the thug. The suspect demanded the woman, who is in her 60s, hand over her phone - before he assaulted her and walked off.

Now investigating officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward over the incident which took place behind the Essar petrol station where footpaths link Scotia Road to Chatterley Street and Westport Road. Police say the 'assault and attempted robbery' took place at around 3pm on December 11. A spokesperson said: "The suspect approached the victim, a woman in her 60s, and demanded she hand over her phone before assaulting her and walking away on foot along a path leading to Chatterley Street and Westport Road by Co-op Academy Stoke-on-Trent.

" The suspect is described as Asian, aged between 16 and 18, of muscular build, and with short curly hair. He was wearing all black, including black trainers, and was carrying blue tracksuit bottoms. Anyone with information should call Staffordshire Police on 101 and quote incident 363 of December 11.
