Police have confirmed there were three separate reports of substance spraying ‘attacks’ in Sutton Coldfield , with four victims. The incidents took place in and around Sutton Park on Wednesday (August 14) evening with officers attending around 7.30pm.

The police and ambulance services have confirmed the ‘attacks’ were in Monmouth Drive, nearby Clifton Road and in Sutton Park – with a police vehicle seen in the Town Gate area near the Toby Carvery. West Midlands Fire Service was also alerted to the incidents, as was the police helicopter. West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed it sent multiple resources to the incident.

It said it treated three patients, two men and one woman, although the police said ‘four people suffered from the effects of the spray’, with the fourth person in the vicinity of someone who was directly sprayed. These were Monmouth Drive, Sutton Park and Clifton Road. “Ambulance staff treated two men for injuries not believed to be serious and conveyed them to hospital. A third patient, a woman, was treated for minor injuries but did not wish to go to hospital and so was given self-care advice and discharged at the scene.
