A police chase ended in a crash and a man being "injured by his own vehicle" while attempting to get out of it. Officers were called to reports of "stolen items" being loaded from a van into another vehicle just before 1pm yesterday, Tuesday. A short pursuit followed, leading to a crash into a wall of the Go Local shop on the corner of Fearney Side and Church Street in Little Lever A man was also "injured by his vehicle" while attempting to get out on Fearney Side .
The man was taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries and was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving and failing to stop. A police cordon was set up on the street throughout the afternoon , blocking it off between Church Street and Rydal Road. A GMP spokesperson said: "At around 12.55pm yesterday, January 7, we received a call regarding reports of stolen items being loaded from a van into another vehicle. "Officers immediately attended and following a short pursuit, a male was injured by their vehicle while attempting to get out on Fearney Side, Little Lever.
"They were taken to hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
