A poignant post box topper was among the many ways Sussex residents paid their respects to the county's fallen soldiers on Remembrance Sunday. The post box topper, spotted in Bognor, showed Spitfires, poppies and soldiers with the message "lest we forget" as thousands of people gathered to pay their respects across the county. Argus Camera Club members captured some of the commemorative celebrations across the region with residents of all ages coming out to pay their respects.

In Rottingdean, a procession was led my a man playing bagpipes as members of the armed services and cadets marched through the streets. Residents gathered beside the water in the village green to pay their respects. Lampposts in the town were adorned with poppies to help mark the occasion.

In Ifield in Crawley, residents also laid a wreath to remember the thousands of animals involved in the war efforts who gave their lives. In Ditchling, a procession led by the Burgess Hill Marching Band helped residents to pay their respects. Residents also brought their pets, adorning them with poppies to mark the occasion.
