Vadodara: The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has asked the chief secretary (CS) of Gujarat to reply to a petition filed by a senior professor of M S University against the university’s vice-chancellor (VC) professor Vijay Srivastava. Professor Satish Pathak, who has been making representations against Srivastava, received a letter from the PMO regarding the petition he had filed against the appointment of the MSU VC. “I am desired to forward herewith through online mode on the PMOPG portal a letter/gist of oral representation dated 14/7/2024 received in this office from Satish Pathak for action as appropriate.

Reply may be sent to the petitioner and a copy of the same may be uploaded on the portal,” the letter from the section officer of the PMO states. Pathak has been demanding action against Srivastava on the grounds that the latter does not have the academic credentials required by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Pathak, in his representation to the PM, Gujarat chief minister, MSU chancellor, among others, has demanded that a criminal offence be registered against Srivastava, who has allegedly committed fraud by submitting a wrong biodata while applying for the post of VC.
