Prayagraj: The Prayagraj Municipal Corporation ( PMC ) will build a super specialty hospital in Naini area. The corporation has prepared the DPR of the hospital, estimated to cost Rs 65.98 crore.
The hospital with modern facilities will also help in increasing the revenue of PMC. At the same time, over 7,000 house owners who had deposited the arrears of increased water tax, water value, sewer tax, and sewer charges for the financial years 2022-23 and 2023-24 have got a big relief. In a House meeting of the PMC, it was decided to adjust the amount taken from them as arrears of two years in the bill of the next financial year 2025-26.
Two years ago, the PMC had decided to increase the water tax, water value, sewer tax, and sewer charges. Based on this, over 7,000 house owners had deposited the arrears on the stipulated date. However, on July 20, the municipal corporation executive meeting, the decision was scrapped.
It was decided to implement the same from the current financial year. However, in this meeting, no decision was taken about those 7,278 citizens who had deposited the arrears. Giving relief to such house owners, PMC decided to adjust the amount taken.
It has also been decided that the house owners will get a 10% discount on the house tax for the current financial year till Oct 31. Mayor Umeshchand Ganesh Kesarwani announced this in the House meeting on Friday. Earlier, the building owners were given a discount till Aug 30.
