LEGO characters are set to spout at least one curse word in the upcoming LEGO Horizon Adventures. Adapting the mature PlayStation franchise to the plastic world has resulted in one tiny swear slipping through the craggle. LEGO Horizon has a potty mouth Still without a concrete release date, LEGO Horizon Adventures is scheduled to release this year on PS5, Switch and PC.

Curiously, the game is skipping PS4 despite the existence of a Switch port. A new ESRB rating for the upcoming LEGO game reveals the title is a very kid-friendly adventure. With cartoon violence and fantasy elements, the game has earned itself an “E for everyone” rating in the United States.

However, the ESRB listing also reveals that the game has at least one instance of bad language, a first for LEGO games. While most LEGO titles only get marked for “cartoon violence and comic mischief”, LEGO Horizon Adventures has been docked for bad language. According to the ESRB listing, the new PlayStation game has at least one use of the word “ass”.

While funny to notice, it is surprisingly the first case of LEGO games using swear words, even if it’s extremely mild. One small step for LEGO man While the LEGO games won’t ever be as crude as something like Borderlands, the use of a single swear does show a shift in culture. It may still be rude, but a single utterance of the word “ass” is fine for a kid’s game.

However, don’t expect the LEGO franchise to go as dark as the canceled Halo Mega Bloks .
