A seafront building home to a nightclub and holiday apartments could be painted green. Pier Court, a cream Art Deco building in Brighton's Marine Parade, on the corner with Charles Street, is home to Patterns, a live music venue. In plans by Seary Architects, Mothership, the company which owns Patterns, wants to paint the building a shade called heritage sage green.

Balcony sills, window arches and low-level walls would be painted a dark green, while steel window and door framing, railings and balcony screens would be painted black. Mothership also wants to change the black lettering on the front of the building from Patterns to Pier Court. "Painting existing retained window and door frames and railings reinstates their original colour. Changing the lettering to Pier Court reinstates visually the historical name of the building.
