Lightwoods Park is just over the border in Bearwood Lightwoods Park might not be the largest in our region, but it's definitely one of the best. With a skate park, multi use sports pitch, exciting play area with huge climbing towers, a bandstand, fountains, playing fields and lots more, it's a diverse and brilliant outdoor space to explore. We went roaming around the park, from Lightwoods House and its walled Shakespeare Garden, down past the skate park and underneath old oak trees to grassy areas where families play football together.

Runners zip around the pathways and parents with pushchairs stroll along the pathways. We'll write more about Lightwoods Park's new tearoom in a seperate story, and you can learn how we got on when we visited the secret garden hidden just off the Hagley Road too. Be sure to follow along with our What's On coverage so you don't miss those.

For now though, we're sharing a few photos so you know what to expect when you visit. And you really should visit! It might belong to Sandwell now, but the park is very welcoming to Brummies and Black Country babs alike!
