WILLMAR — While Halloween is officially on Thursday, the spooky fun took off early. Halloween-themed events and activities have been taking place across west central Minnesota for the last few weeks. The fun really started on Saturday, Oct.
26. There were community parties, trunk-or-treating events and more. Costumed kids of all ages collected bags full of treats, played games and enjoyed the magic of Halloween.
At the Willmar Community Center, hundreds of pieces of candy were given out during the trunk-or-treat event conducted in drive-thru style. The parking lot at Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar became a Halloween extravaganza with many decorated trunks full of treats and games. And in Renville, the annual Spooktacular included games, art activities, food and a trunk-or-treat.
There is still plenty of Halloween fun to be had with trick-or-treating opportunities taking place at various locations and neighborhoods on Thursday..
