National Cookbook Month is celebrated in October, and Greater Philadelphia is gearing up for it with a month of events beginning Oct. 8 and running until Oct. 22, with a preview scheduled for Thursday.

I might even make the trip to Greater Philadelphia to feed my cookbook addiction. By the time you read this, I will have attended the International Association of Culinary Professionals annual summit and cookbook awards in Brooklyn, N.Y.
