Pune: The admission process for both degree and diploma courses in pharmacy has been hindered due to pending approvals from Pharmacy Council of India for numerous educational institutions. Despite the ongoing registration for degree and diploma courses by the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) cell, the subsequent admission procedures have come to a standstill, leading to anxiousness among students and their parents. Students have written to the CET cell to conduct admissions based on available seats—there are over 70,000 seats in Maharashtra.

CET officials said that they were awaiting a response from the council on proceeding with admissions. An official from the CET cell said, "Pharmacy institutions need annual approval from the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). Most institutions have not completed this process yet and this has impacted admissions.
