Pune: The Petrol Dealers Association Pune (PDAP) has decided to postpone its agitation following meetings with district officials and a request from minister and MP Murlidhar Mohol . Previously, the association had announced an indefinite agitation starting Oct 15, citing concerns over unfair tender practices and fuel thefts . A representative from PDAP said, "Minister Mohol assured the association he would take up the matter with the petroleum minister to get it resolved.

Owing to his and Pune collector's requests and considering the festive season, we have decided to defer the agitation for a couple of weeks." The dealers' grievances included alleged unfair tender practices and widespread thefts during fuel transportation. Dealers had refused to send their tankers for loading at terminals, potentially disrupting fuel supply in the district.

A few days ago, president of the association Dhruv Ruparel had said, "Oil companies have been implementing unfair tender practices, compelling dealers to accept tenders without quoting the rates. This has led to a disturbing trend of theft attempts. Around 65% of transporters caught by the police are trying to survive in this unfair system.
