Since the start of July Perth and Kinross Council's dedicated visitor rangers have engaged with nearly 3,200 visitors - including campers in over 400 tents - seeking to ensure everyone enjoys the outdoors. Following the successful pilot of Perth and Kinross Council's Visitor Ranger Service in 2021, the service has been rolled out on a permanent basis with rangers giving advice on how to visit the countryside responsibly and leave nothing more than footprints. The aim of the service - which works closely with partners and local communities - is to both create a positive visitor experience as well as improve the lives of residents following issues with litter, "dirty camping" and parking.

Perth and Kinross Council's SNP leader is delighted so many have chosen to come to the area and simply asks visitors to "behave responsibly". Council leader Grant Laing said: "We welcome visitors to Perth and Kinross and are pleased so many people want to experience our wonderful scenery first hand. "We do ask that people behave responsibly while they’re here and are pleased so many have.
