HBO’s “The Penguin” has been a solid hit for the premium cabler, it seems; in fact, it has become its third-biggest currently airing series. According to new data issued by the network, the spin-off of “The Batman” focused on the infamous DC Comics villain has racked up 10.4 million cross-platform viewers for its series premiere.

The figure, which comes at the eleven-day mark, is reportedly outpacing every other current HBO series over a similar time frame with two notable exceptions – “The Last of Us” and “House of the Dragon”. The figure also almost doubles the viewership count released last week that indicated 5.3 million viewers had watched the premiere within its first four days of release – meaning 5.

1 million more people watched the premiere last week. Meanwhile Sunday night’s episode drew 1.6 million viewers across all platforms (including a couple of on-air replays) in Live+Same Day – a 17% bump from the Live+Same Day audience for the premiere.

It marks a welcome boost for HBO with the network originally not slated to air the series, the show was intended to run exclusively on Max. Instead it became the first of several Max titles jumping to HBO with others including “Dune: Prophecy,” “IT: Welcome to Derry,” and the “Harry Potter” TV series. The third-season finale of “Industry” on HBO also aired with that show’s whole season drawing in 1/3 more viewers than season two did (1.

6 million per episode versus 1.2 million). HBO h.
