Pune: State BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Friday said former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray is being sidelined in the MVA . He said, "Uddhav was made the chief minister in 2019 as it was Sharad Pawar's ploy to break the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance. He succeeded in his plan.
Uddhav's utility is now over for Sharad Pawar and the Congress, and therefore, he is being sidelined in the MVA. He (Uddhav) went to Delhi for two days to meet Congress leaders and even met Sharad Pawar, but he got nothing from either," Bawankule said in Pune on Friday. The MVA's seat sharing is yet to be finalised and they are debating whether to announce the chief minister's face for the alliance.
While Uddhav has insisted on announcing it before going to the polls, the Congress and NCP (SCP) feel that the chief minister can be decided after the results. Against this backdrop, Bawankule said that Uddhav will never become the CM again. "Sharad Pawar wants to make his daughter Supriya Sule the CM.
During the election, Sharad Pawar will use Uddhav for campaign speeches. Once it is over, nobody in the MVA will give him any importance. Congress and Sharad Pawar have made a joke out of Uddhav," Bawankule added.
He added that MVA will never form govt. "No matter how hard they try, the people will never support them. They will stand by the Mahayuti which has taken decisions for public welfare.
People are aware of our performance, and they will ensure that we form the govt again," Bawankule said..
