When Gucci released its autumn/winter campaign in November 2023, featuring a grinning Paul Mescal reclining on a chair, leg up, short-shorts tantalisingly concertinaed around the crotch, the world collectively swooned. The mastermind behind this high-fashion thirst trap? Fashion editor-turned-stylist to the stars, Felicity Kay . Whether it’s Mescal’s sartorial erogenous zones, Kit Conner’s boy-next-door charm or Ncuti Gatwa’s rule-breaking red-carpet ensembles, over the last few years Kay has found herself shaping the images of a new set of tastemakers of A-list taste-makers, and racking up the column inches along the way.
So it will come as a surprise to no one, perhaps, that Kay has now found herself stepping into the role of designer this season, creating an exclusive capsule collection with team Vogue ’s favourite shirting specialist, With Nothing Underneath. Inspired by Kay’s extensive experience in the field of styling and in-depth understanding of fashion, specifically tailoring, the edit is made up of three immaculately-executed shirts – from graphic striped styles to winged-collar dress shirts – that are unconstrained by traditional gender categories.
