The Edmonton Oilers star isn’t known for having any sort of boisterous personality and any comments he makes to the media are as well chosen as his setup passes to teammates. But it turns out that McDavid sure can cut loose when he wants to.
In a video posted on TikTok last week that has been recirculating on other social media, the three-time Hart Trophy winner was seen having a blast during an afterparty for his wedding this summer. McDavid is shown on top of teammate Zach Hyman’s shoulders, dancing with another pair of partygoers. The original clip, which has since been taken down, was posted by Canadian DJ duo Lord Luxury.
In a post of the video on X, user @PoolNuge3 wrote “Connor McDavid finally beating the ‘boring hockey guy’ allegations.” Users on social media were quick to crack jokes about the usually staid star cutting loose. “It’s usually McDavid carrying the rest of the oilers on his shoulders.
..” one user wrote.
“How did they drink their alcohol since there wasn’t a cup in sight?” another asked. McDavid and interior designer Lauren Kyle tied the knot in Ontario last month on Old Woman Island, a 16-acre island on Lake Muskoka. Kyle told Vogue Australia that Muskoka is special to the couple because it’s where they got engaged.
