May 4, 1959 August 19, 2024 Pamela Cecilia "Pam" Bergmark, 65, of Grand Island, formerly of Aurora, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m.
Monday, August 26, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Grand Island. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rosary will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island, with visitation to follow from 4 to 6 p.
m. Pamela was born May 4, 1959, in Omaha, the daughter of Edward and Julia Aken. In her childhood, she attended school in Long Beach, California, and finished her secondary schooling in Grand Island, where she graduated from Grand Island Senior High with the class of 1977.
Throughout the years, Pam was an avid sports participant in softball and volleyball, where she excelled in competition. This would later prepare her for her children's and grandchildren's activities. Even though she kept busy with activities, school, family, and friends, she was a hard worker.
One place of employment during her high school years was at Sambo's Restaurant. On June 7, 1980, she married Rodney Bergmark. Together they enjoyed volleyball, softball, and bowling league, as well as country living, camping, races at Mid-Continent Speedway, and raising their three beautiful daughters.
As a young mother, Pamela was a beloved daycare provider for many years. She loved working with people, so as her children got older, she was employed at Super Foods of Aurora and later at Grain Place Foods.
