In the lead-up to this year’s Pacific Airshow on October 4-6, Pacific Airshow's leader, Kevin Elliott, graciously gave Simple Flying an interview while setting up America’s largest beach airshow. The airshow is an annual three-day spectacular with fighter jets, heavies, short take-off and landing (STOL) aircraft, and more – all because an American had a dream coupled to work ethic. From remote-control airplanes to managing the Pacific Airshow Kevin Elliott’s journey in aviation began with flying remote-control airplanes as a child in the Huntington Beach area.

In 2016, having set up an events firm after working at Boeing, Mr. and Mrs. Elliott had a fun day at the airshow and offered to help.

Then Mr. Elliott took over and rebranded the airshow to have “regional appeal”. Now, the same airshow has two chapters – Huntington Beach, California, and Gold Coast, Australia.

Below are some photos from the Australian version: The thinking behind Pacific Airshow is that, as Kevin Elliott explains,. “Run this sort of non-traditional air show in a very nontraditional environment that ..

.it's something for everybody at the Pacific Air Show. It appeals to my mom, my sister, who wouldn't otherwise go out to a hot runway or an airfield, you know, but I'll certainly go down to the beach and stand in the sand and watch an air show.

...

The air show introduces new people to air shows and to aircraft that have never thought about being interested in an F-35 or an F-22.” As Ellio.
