SMETHPORT — It was a good old-fashioned game of McKean County football, and at the end of the day, Bradford found themselves on top. So, I think that, you know, there’s really good football in District 9 and any week anybody can beat anybody.” Reese did throw two interceptions (one was tipped), but for the most part was very efficient, completing 23-of-29 passes. Seven of those went to Kohler, including a 70-yard touchdown down the right sideline on the first play of the Owls’ second drive after Smethport had stuffed them on a 4th-and-1 20 yards away from the end zone on their first drive.

“On their first touchdown, 30 (Kohler), he’s special,” said Smethport coach Eric Rees. “He’s fast as hell.” Despite the loss, Rees was proud of the way his team battled, which included stopping Bradford inside the 30 on three separate occasions, including the first drive of the game.
