Adelyn Lau Over 700 exhibitors are joining this year's Food Expo organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, opening from August 15 to 19. The five-day annual event, in its 34th edition this year, is being held alongside four other fairs - the Food Expo PRO and Hong Kong International Tea Fair trade shows, as well as the Beauty and Wellness Expo and Home Delights Expo.Together, these fairs are attracting a total of over 1,840 exhibitors, providing a one-stop sourcing and shopping destination for trade buyers and the public to explore global cuisines, tea and lifestyle products.

For the first time, the HKTDC is introducing four new cross-fair theme days featuring curated activities and product promotions.These include "Happy Friday" on August 16, showcasing award-winning mixologists' non-alcoholic beverage preparation, and "Japan and Korea Express" on August 17, where visitors can experience the latest Japanese and Korean food and lifestyle trends, including live demonstrations of Korean kimchi-making and traditional Japanese kimono dances. The food expo itself covers two zones.

The premium food area will feature over 30 renowned brands, including Chewy, Choya, and Kee Wah Bakery, offering the latest products such as the 35th Anniversary edition of Tai Pan's Snowy Mooncake and Choya's umeshu gold edition. In the gourmet zone's seven thematic areas, visitors can enjoy a variety of delicacies, from foie gras in French red wine to New Zealand imperial salmon, Greek yogu.
