Godfrey George No fewer than seventy-three newborns have been delivered at the ongoing 72nd Annual Convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Sunday PUNCH has learnt. This was announced by the church’s General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, at the Friday Holy Ghost Congress held at Redemption City, Mowe, Ogun State. The RCCG began its annual August convention on Monday, 5 August 2024, and will climax on Sunday (today).
Thousands of worshippers joined the programme, as both old and new arenas were filled, with several overflows. Our correspondent gathered that over 18,068 worshippers joined the Friday Holy Ghost service from the church’s YouTube page, Dove TV. Guest houses and hostels in Redemption City and its environs had already been fully booked by worshippers, according to several reports.
Adeboye, announcing the number of births on Saturday morning before his sermon, noted that, as of 6pm on Friday, the number of newborns had reached 73, with 39 boys and 34 girls. He also noted that two sets of twins were part of the number. Announcing the development before his sermon at the Holy Ghost Night held on Friday night until Saturday morning at the church’s headquarters, Adeboye said, “The number of children born during this convention by 6pm on Friday evening had increased to 73.
We had another set of twins today. Now, we have a total of 39 boys and 34 girls. “Once again, let the boys shout ‘Praise the Lord!’ and let the girls shout ‘Hallelujah!’ D.
