Vadodara: A video of a person from a non-medical background taking stitches of a patient at SSG Hospital has gone viral in the city, forcing the hospital officials to launch an inquiry. It is being claimed that the person seen in the video is a driver running a private ambulance near the state-run hospital. The person is seen taking the stitches while wearing gloves.

Two medical/nursing students can be seen observing the person while he is taking the stitches. After the video went viral, officials of the hospital said they would probe the matter. “The video seems to be old.

But it is clear that the person is an outsider,” said Dr Ranjan Aiyer, medical superintendent of the hospital. “We are trying to find out/establish the identity of the person and also check his medical background,” said Aiyer.
