It comes after Jamie Fraser actor Sam Heughan revealed last year that he has pushed for the Starz drama to have a “different ending”.
Outlander is based on the bestselling novels by Gabaldon, who has written nine of 10 planned volumes. Meanwhile, the TV show will conclude a few books before the official ending to the series of novels, meaning it is likely the final on-screen ending will differ from the final scenes from Gabaldon, which have not yet been published. Speaking to The Herald about season 8, Heughan admitted he has pushed for an ending to the TV show that felt right for the fans who had been watching the show for years.
