Pune: Special Judge UM Mudholkar on Thursday reserved an order till Friday on an interim anticipatory bail plea filed by the father of one of the two minors , who were with the teenage driver at the time of the Porsche Taycan crash on May 19, after police named him in the case of conspiracy to manipulate blood alcohol tests. The applicant is a labour contractor and has been on the run ever since the police on Aug 20 arrested his friend, who is a jeweller-cum-realtor, and an aviation spares company owner on charges of conniving with two Sassoon General Hospital doctors to swap the blood samples of the two accompanying minors. It is the police's case that the jeweller gave his blood sample at the behest of the labour contractor.

Defence lawyer Abid Mulani pleaded with the court to grant interim relief to his client till the latter's anticipatory bail plea is decided as there are no allegations made against him in the chargesheet filed in the case. "My client's son has not been named an accused in the case," he submitted. Mulani claimed there was no evidence relating to conspiracy, manipulating blood alcohol tests, and forgery against his client.
