The incident occurred at Singh's residence in the Daburji area on a Saturday morning, and it is believed to have stemmed from a rivalry between two families residing in the US who hired Indian shooters for the task, according to officials. Singh was shot by two assailants, and investigations are ongoing regarding financial transactions linked to the case.

Amritsar Commissioner of Police Ranjit Singh Dhillon said that the shooting was the result of mutual rivalry between two US-based families. “The firing incident occurred due to mutual rivalry between two families. Both families live in the US and they hired Indian shooters for the task.

The family who orchestrated the attack knew that the victim was in Punjab. It is only a matter of time till the shooters are arrested. Five people have been arrested so far,” he stated.

Dhillon further mentioned that authorities are probing the financial aspects of the case, particularly transactions from the US to India. The attack took place early in the morning when the assailants arrived at Singh’s home on a bike. They entered his residence under the guise of enquiring about the registration papers of his luxury car.
