Chess Piece won't be calling "checkmate" on season 12 of The Masked Singer . The mystery actress was sent home during the Fox singing competition series' Oct. 23 Barbie-themed episode.

But prior to the unknown celebrity's elimination, she teased her true identity to the audience and special connection to the iconic toy doll. "As a kid, I was a rich target for others to tease," Chess Piece shared in a video package. "It seemed like every piece of me was something others could poke at.

And, on top of that, I loved Barbie. But the part that hurt was that I wasn't allowed to play with her." The star added, "The criticism and scrutiny continued over the years and made me question everything I love about myself.

" "So, I had to take control of my own board and the one thing that helped me heal was the one thing I was missing all along: Barbie," she recounted. "I started buying them for myself and realized it's never too late to have a happy childhood, even decades later. And now, they even modeled one after me.

Barbie can be anything. She made me and every woman feel like we can be anything too." The pre-taped clip also featured several hints, most notably Chess Piece picking an orange off a tree.

However, despite belting out Chaka Khan 's anthem "I'm Every Woman" during an impressive performance, Chess Piece landed in last place and was eliminated. When it came to the judges' guesses, Rita Ora put her money on Tyra Banks , Robin Thicke picked Misty Copeland , Ken Jeong chose Issa R.
