1 2 Prayagraj: City cops have drafted security plan for the forthcoming Dadhikando fairs beginning in the city from August 31. City police have issued a set of guidelines among Dadhikando fair committees with the strict guideline that only spiritual or religious songs would be played on loudspeakers under a set decibel volume, or cops would be taking actions accordingly. DCP (City) Deepak Bhuker told TOI that they have drafted an security blueprint for Dadhikando fairs to be held in Kydganj, Teliyarganj (Shivkuti), Salori (Colonelganj), Rajapur (Cantt) and Sulemsarai (Dhoomanganj).

He, however, said, “Dadhikando committees have been asked to play bhakti sangeet songs on DJs at a prescribed volume (set norms).” The DCP said that Dadhikando fairs will be held in separate areas on different dates and for that, adequate police forces would be deployed to keep a strict eye on troublemakers. Moreover, district traffic police authorities have also chalked out a diversion plan in view of fairs to be held on different routes.

The entry of vehicles would be restricted on Dadhikando fair dates for the smooth conduction of the mela. Noted religious scholar Dr Amitabh Gour told TOI that Dadhikandon Mela are organised in Sangam city only since ages. Devotees congregate to watch a procession carried out in honour of the Lord Krishna and Balram, sitting in grand tableaux.
